Discovering Domaine Saint Gabriel

Located in the hills of Ghalboun within the Jbeil district, Domaine Saint Gabriel is a certified organic winery that balances family heritage with a modern commitment to quality.

The Terroir
The estate sits at an altitude of 450 to 500 meters, with terraces facing east toward the Makmel mountains. The vineyards benefit from cooling Mediterranean sea breezes and are planted on a specific soil composition of clay, gravel, and silt.

The Craft & Quality
While the estate has deep roots, 2020 marked a significant turning point when the winery began producing high-quality wines. They grow a wide range of varieties, including Chardonnay, Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Sangiovese.
The winery utilizes two distinct aging methods:
Amphora: Used specifically for the bottle called L'Alphabet.
Oak Barrels: Used for aging other selected white and red wines.
All grapes are harvested by hand, following organic practices and a philosophy of minimal intervention to keep the character of the fruit as natural as possible.

The Story
The estate is rooted in a family history dating back to 1926, when Meriena Gebrayel returned from Brazil and settled on this land. Today, her grandchildren have transformed it into the winery it is today, maintaining an authentic atmosphere with traditional stone architecture and mountain views.
At Wine for Everyone, the goal is to discover Lebanese wine one winery at a time. Domaine Saint Gabriel is a testament to the land, the people, and the stories behind every bottle.
