2004 Shiraz Stone Cellars by Beringer Napa Valley - California Price: $5.99 Rating: 2 At This Price Wed Rather Have A Beer Beringer is a well respected name in California, thus we were surprised by how little we liked this wine. We found it harsh to drink, and although we let it sit to age it really never improved enough to recommend. Shiraz is generally a fruity red wine and those coming from Australia and now the US are usually very drinkable. They are not overly heavy though they can be, but they are usually very drinkable, especially with a good sharp cheese or beef. But this wine just didnt go well with the roast we made. It might get better as time goes on, but a $5.99 wine (red wine or white wine) should be ready to drink. This was not. So for both of us, wed give it a 2
Wed prefer a beer anytime, especially with that roast.
