Advances in winemaking technology along with higher levels of winemaking techniques have brought wine from Argentina to the rest of the world's attention. the main grape growing areas are the Mendoza and San Juan regions which produce fine Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Merlot. In addition, Argentina produces good Chardonnay, Sangiovese, Semillon, and Tempranillo.
